FULL INTERIOR CONCEPT
For Rugvista’s new headquarters and adjacent warehouse at Sockret 4 in Malmö’s Middle Harbour district, we developed an interior concept that elevates the workplace while establishing a clear physical expression of the brand. The project spans approximately 2,500 square metres, and Rumrum was involved throughout the entire process – from concept development to the finished environment. The design works closely with the company’s graphic identity, translating it into a cohesive spatial experience.
The concept draws inspiration from Rugvista’s heritage and core business – oriental rugs. Their colours, patterns and materials informed both the colour scheme and material palette, shaping the spatial identity of the office.
The project marks a shift from a previously neutral workplace dominated by white tones to a warmer, more colour-driven environment. A richer palette and contemporary design language give the office greater presence and character, while creating a welcoming workplace for employees and visitors alike.
The layout supports everyday work by introducing smaller spatial zones within the large office volume, creating variation and a more human scale. Multifunctional areas enable different ways of working and establish a natural flow between workstations, meeting rooms and social spaces. The entrance functions as a flexible area that can evolve over time and accommodate different activities.
Material and colour choices play a central role in the concept. We developed the colour scheme, selected materials for floors and walls, and supplied furniture for the office, ensuring each element contributes to the overall identity. Existing furnishings were also integrated where possible, with a strong focus on reuse and long-term sustainability.
The result is a distinctive workplace where identity is expressed through materiality, colour and spatial structure.
